Mrs Baader’s profile

20140118_174053Present, past, future: English and German teacher at Peter-Henlein-Realschule

I studied drama at Goldsmiths College, London and did teacher training at University of Eichstätt, Germany.

What’s next? Well I’d love to improve my Spanish language skills,  ideally by living and working in a Spanish speaking country!

Likes: theatre, films, books, travelling, walking in the countryside and spending time with my husband and two kids!

Dislikes: long dark and wet winters! Our school building!

Pets: a tomcat called Pepe, 10 months old and very cheeky!

Music: Latin American (traditional, Salsa…), classical

Food: My favourite for eating out is a Vietnamese restaurant at the moment, the all-time classic are Nuremberg sausages, tapas from Spain are great too! And I love to cook curry!

Internet/Social Networks: BBC News, BBC learning English, Spiegel, Facebook are some sites I use lots!

Films: Exit Marakesch, NO!, Dampfnudelblues – films I saw recently and liked!

Books/Authors: When Hitler stole pink rabbit, Diary of a part-time Indian – books I would recommend to young readers.

TV: don’t watch much German TV, but if I do, it’s “Tatort” on Sunday nights (a German TV detective series) or some other crime series

A quote:
“By seeking and blundering we learn.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, German dramatist, novelist, poet, & scientist (1749 – 1832)

    Hi Mrs Baader,

It’s great to read your introductory profile. I have a real interest in Germany – my sister-in-law is German (though she now lives in New Zealand) and many of my favourite films are made there – like Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt).

Thanks so much for approaching us with this idea for collaboration. I’m really excited about it.

Have you read the book “The Book Theif”? If not, I recommend it!

    Righto!

    Chris

React!
